About DevCube

Devcube joined the Upwork platform in 2019 and they were working with direct clients. In Dec 2022, they reached out to me and ask me to handle Upwork their Upwork accounts. At that time, they were having 68% Job Success Score on their Upwork profile and a low response rate on their proposals.

The solution I provide

DevCube was focusing on different tech stacks such as the MERN stack, Mobile App Development, Shopify Development, API Integration and other aspects.

After joining Devcube, I found some reasons for their low Job Success Score on Upwork. For example;

  • Pending Invites: They were not accepting Invitations if they were not related to their skills
  • Copy Paste Cover Letter submissions on Upwork

I accepted all the pending Invitations and took the responsibility to accept every new invite within 10 mins. Not only this, every time when we got a response from the client, I inform them so they can respond immediately.

By accepting the pending invites and custom cover letter submission, within 3 weeks their Job Success Score improves to 92%.

Additionally, I help them with

  • Profile Description Writing: Their profile description was not attractive and not having relevant keywords. So I rewrite the agency profile description.
  • Project Catalog: I help them to create project Catalogs for those services where they were having proven work experience.
  • Video Description: This task is still pending and they’re working on it

My Cover Letter Approach

Driven hottest leads are one of my favourite things to do. Here is a great example of how I got a lead for DevCube.

Job Description 2 1024x681

Step 1: Focus On Keywords

After reading the job description, I found the keywords to focus on. Those keywords were:

  • Customize a theme for a wine site
  • Portland or Symmetry theme
  • Quality Design

Step 2: Keyword Positioning

I focused on these 3 keywords and custom make my cover letter.

In order to focus on these keywords, I research the themes ( Portland or Symmetry ) and I found both themes are Paid. So in the first line of my cover letter, I mentioned the same thing and attract the client to respond to my cover letter.

Step 3: Ask Questions to client

As I did research about the keywords & job, I ask some relevant queries to show my understanding of the project.

Step 4: Share Relevant Work Samples

DevCube has not worked on any similar project ( related to Wine Shop development ) so I shared a Fashion Store Development project with Clutch review of the client.

Here is my cover letter after following the above-mentioned steps:

After following all 4 Steps, I got a response from this client.

As I take the responsibility to inform DevCube that we got a response, I immediately inform them and they replied to Chris within 1 hour.

After having a conversation, we received the client’s offer of $30 for 40 man-hours.

My experience with DevCube

I’m working with DevCube since Dec 2022 and it’s been 3 months. During these 3 months, I enjoyed working with them and generating quality leads for them. Till now, we have converted 3 clients and got performance bonuses as well.

Not only this, we’re still working together and Alona & Igor are happy with my performance

DevCube Feedback to me

“We have hired Taranjeet to generate UpWork leads and he has been doing an amazing job! Always going beyond to learn more and understand us better. Highly recommend!”
